Ep6: Cassidy @Hiking.with.Honey

Today’s interview is with Cassidy, the dogmom of Honey @hiking.with.honey, a Colorado dog who can be found hitting the trails around the Denver area almost every weekend. And now the weather is warming, they are getting into camping. We get into  details of their first camping trip in this episode.

Cassidy and Honey frequent the Westminster Hills Dog Park, a 400+ acre open space park with plenty of off leash area. For more trail hiking, they have a few favorites in and around Flagstaff Mountain near Boulder, Pinewood Springs, and Estes Park, Colorado. Matthews/ Winters Park is her go to for sunrise hikes from fall to spring. Cassidy has used a few resources, including other instagram friends, and an outdoor resource group called Rising Routes @risingroutes. Rising Routes is a diverse group of outdoor enthusiasts with a focus on inclusion.

Though Cassidy originally used a harness with Honey, she has switched to using a collar almost exclusively for hiking. She likes Biothane waterproof collars from 4BlackCollars, online at www.4blackpaws.com. Honey wears bandanas from @malibusadventureclub, with a portion of proceeds going to animal rescue. She also wanted to mention a new company that makes packs for people with dogs, Muttruk @muttruk.

For her photo inspiration, Cassidy likes @nelleandlouise and @theadventuresofscoutthedog. While we didn’t cover it in the interview, she did want to point out a couple of her favorite dog advocate accounts, @adventurepupleilani and @reggieandthevan. And of course, we have to give a big shout out to her friend and neighbor @booneboy.dood.
